Peermusic set up Chinese subsidiary Shake Music

Peermusic has co-launched a new '360° entertainment company'
in China - with a broad business scope including artist
development, music production and music publishing.
Shake Music (Beijing) Company Limited is a joint-venture
co-managed by Steven Fock (former regional head of Warner/Chappell
Music Asia Pacific and General Manager/Regional A&R Director of
Universal Music Publishing Taiwan) alongside peermusic (S.E. Asia)
Ltd. and peermusic's Asia-Pacific regional office in Hong
According to a company statement: 'The name Shake speaks to
the company's vision of exploring new ways to penetrate the "Wide
Wild East" through serving both the domestic and international
"China is a dynamic music market with considerable growth
potential but local knowledge as well as flexibility are essential
requirements to tap that potential. Thus we are excited to be
working with Steven who has had many years of on the spot
experience working in this challenging environment," commented
