Actress Anna Kendrick's reworked cover of The Carter Family's 1931 recording, When I'm Gone, has been viewed more than 40 million times on YouTube.

The feat coincides with this month's anniversary of The Carter Family's first recordings by peermusic's founder Ralph Peer Sr., called the "Bristol Sessions," marking the birth of Country Music.

Anna Kendrick performed it as her character Beca Mitchell's school singing audition in the American musical comedy, Pitch Perfect.
