Buena Vista Social Club

Grammy Award-winning Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club remain an international sensation, selling over eight million records since their self-titled critically-acclaimed release in 1997.

Founded by American guitarist Ry Cooder in Cuba's capital Havana, Buena Vista featured legendary 'soneros' musicians from yesteryear, including singer Ibrahim Ferrer and pianist Ruben Gonzalez.

Wim Wenders' classic Academy Award-nominated documentary in 1999 captured the ensemble's incredible vitality and sell-out performances on either side of the Atlantic.
